Question from a customer-

We are proposing to do some radiation testing for a customer on several parts including the LMH6628QML (5962F0254501VZA), which was the quote we recently asked for. However, we are wondering if a lesser grade is still suitable for radiation testing both for cost and availability. What grade of components have you seen other customers order for radiation testing?

I know that this part has radiation data, but we need additional testing for ELDRS and non-ionizing dose. At this point we don’t care about specific lot or date codes, we just want to qualify the LMH6628 part for our customer.

Hello Soumya,

The customer may perform additional radiation testing on our devices, but we do not guarantee any performance or repeatability of external or additional testing preformed by the customer. Just in case it was missed, here is our testing for ELDRS and non-ionizing dose on this device: report.

In general, the packaging between catalog and space part will be different. So, it would be best to do final tests on the space qualified part, but they may do initial testing on the catalog version; since, device specs would be the same or very similar.

Well one of the key questions here Sima is whether the space folks made any die level design changes. Sometimes they do, I know some non-TI space parts where they removed the ESD cells as the are vulnerable to heavy particle impact.

I was scanning the datasheet for this part, LMH6628QML-SP - that supply voltage and output swing spec doesn't make a lot of sense,

The char curves quote a +/-5V supply condition, I suspect the tables should as well - the output swing cannot reach +/-5V on +/-5V supplies.

Double checked with design engineers, and it is the same die but different packaging.

Michael,

Good catch, that was a mistake in the datasheet. It should follow the catalog version's datasheet of 3.8V at high load resistances.
