OPA2377-Q1: OPAx2377-Q1 Configuration

Part Number: OPA2377-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA377

Can this Opamp be configured as a single rail difference amplifier with offset (2.5V offset in the positive input to measure both positive and negative differential inputs)?

  • Hi Ivan,

Thanks for your post, I can help you. We can certainly configure this op amp as a difference amplifier with 4 resistors. Can you help me answer a few questions first?:

    • What is the input differential range? You say is it's positive and negative, can you provide numbers please?
    • What supplies are available?
    • What is the expected output? This will help us determine gain.

I put together the following reference design so you can see how to analyze the circuit.

  • Hi Ivan,

Yes, that should work. See the OPA377 simulation result below. The output is relative to +2.5 V. A -1 V input results in a +3.5 V output.
