OPA3S2859: Matching Channels?

Hi All,

I have a customer who is working on a laser detector and the first stage of the process is a TIA circuit, for which they have expressed interest in leveraging the OPA3S2859. They are looking at the OPA3S2859 because their current design requires 2 mirrored circuits - so they're hoping the OPA3S2859 has dual mirrored TIA's in a single package? This is for red/green laser detection.

The customer is also interested in talking about other solutions if they are a better fit in terms of cost and function.

The customer has also requested any white papers we have on red/green laser detection.

I just received additional information from the customer:

I saw a couple other options that are more oriented toward our voltage requirements where 2.7V or less operating voltage range is better. Also, we are just trying to capture a laser detection of a 150-1200 RPM laser. Or a line laser with like a 10kHz overlay on it so bandwidth I don’t think is going to be an issue on any of these:

Hello John,

Our dual amplifier selections are two mirrored amplifiers in one smaller and less expensive than designing with two separate amplifiers. For example here are the block diagrams of the OPA3S2859 and the OPA3S328:

For red/green laser detection, I would agree that bandwidth should not be a concern for this application. By RPM laser, this would mean the pulse train rather than wide or continuous pulses? Also, are they expecting a large current range?
