hi,

OPA2228 is getting heated up. i am using it has voltage follower. kindly suggest.

I am working with dual supply +12V/-12V.

This is to be expected when lots of current flows through the device. See this blog post for how to calculate power dissipation and the temperature increase.

source current is 100mA and load current is 10mA

Hi Smitha,

there are several possible causes for heat up. One is a too high load current. Another is oscillation due to instability.

So, please show a schematic.

In addition to Kai's comment above, the OPA2228 is not unity-gain stable; you would need to use the unity-gain stable version of this amplifier OPA2227 if you want use it in a "follower" or "buffer" configuration.
