Hi Experts

An customer is using INA237 as below.

Here are the registers dumped

0x01,0xFB68

0x02,0x1000

0x03,0xFFFF

0x04,0x0000

0x05,0x0000

0x06,0x0CE0

0x07,0x0000

0x08,0x0000

0x09,0xFFFF

0x0A,0xFFFF

0x0B,0x0003

0x0C,0x7FFF

0x0D,0x8000

0x0E,0x7FFF

0x0F,0x0000

0x10,0x7FF0

0x11,0xFFFF

0X3E,0x5449

As you can see, there is no voltage and current data, is there anything i can do to deal with this problem?

Thanks

Nick

  • Hello Nick,

It appears that the communication with the INA237 is working correctly, since you are able to correctly read the manufacturer ID register, as well as a valid die temperature. I also don't see any issues with the alert registers. Can you probe at the IN+ and IN- pins of the device to make sure that there is a voltage there to be measured? Also, you can make sure that you are talking to the correct device by touching the top of the package and making sure the temperature value changes accordingly.

    Regards,

    Mitch
