INA780A: How do I get the INA780 device?

Part Number: INA780A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA780,

Hi All,

How can I get my hands on an INA780A or B device? I tried to get approved for the sample program and I was turned down. I asked to purchase it and I hear crickets. How do I get a single working INA780 device? I'll pay for it.

Thanks,

Eric Norton

  • Hey Appreciated Engineer,

Sorry to hear this. What happens when you add units to your cart from the device's product page?

Would you mind sending a screen shot?

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

     I get this:

Not sure if TI wants me to order these or not lol. I need just one piece for an electronic load project. I may be going into production if this electronic load works the way I want it to. Please let me know how I can get my hands on one piece or two pieces. As I said I can pay for them no problem I just need some for my project OR any device that is similar in function and I could use an external shunt resistor. The resolution has to be pretty high like 16 or 20 bit. The maximum current for the load is 50 amps and maximum voltage is 80V. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Eric Norton

  • Hey Eric,

I am asking our marketing and logistics teams for support here.

    Best,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Thank you for your response. I will wait to design that section until I get a response from you. As I said in the previous message it could be another device with similar functionality that's available from TI. I did notice that TI does make shuntless parts and maybe those could be used because the shunt I spec'd for the design is 0.0005 ohms. I chose that low resistance so that I can keep the dissipation low enough at 50 amps load. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eric Norton

  • Hey Eric,

What is the email domain mapped to your myTI account? If you like we can take this conversation on private message.

    Sincerely,

  • Hey Eric,

I am really sorry for this inconvenience. I have not heard back from my our support teams on this. I will update you on how to remedy this as soon as I hear back from them.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Ok, thank you, Peter!

  • Hey Eric,

This device in particular was chosen to have a restriction on availability for certain accounts; however, this restriction has just been lifted. Can you please check to see if you can see the stock?

I apologize for the inconvenience. This is not the normal procedure for device release, but since this is an advanced release certain restrictions are placed to keep the inventory stable.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

Ah, ok, well I just ordered five pieces for now and for testing. THANK YOU AND TI SO MUCH for all your help with this Slight smile. If I have any questions I will reach out.

    Thanks again,

    Eric Norton
