TLV9054: Shutdown current comparison

Part Number: TLV9054
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV2775, , TLV9044

Hi team,

My customer is trying to migrate from TLV2775 to TLV9054S.

In the TLV9054S datasheet, only typical shutdown current ~1uA is specified. Is this value "per channel" or total?

Compared to TLV2775, will the total shutdown current increase or decrease?

Best regards,

Kazuki Itoh

  • The TLV9054 datasheet says "less than 1 µA". It does not have any specifications regarding shutdown in section 7.7, so I guess that no detailed measurements were done, and that 1 µA is the limit of the measurement device.

The TLV9044 is a similar device with lower speed. It specifies 0.075 µA per channel.

  • Hi Clemens-san,

Actually the TLV9054 datasheet says "typically less than 1uA".

Also, it is hard to identify if it's per channel or total current spec.

In the TLV2775 datasheet, it is clearly specified.

So I'd like to ask you how to compare the shutdown current between TLV9054S and TLV2775.

Could you pleas comment on this?

    Best regards,

    Kazuki Itohi

  • From the datasheet itself, it is not possible to compare. Therefore, I've use the next best estimate, from the TLV9044 datasheet.

  • Hi Clemens-san,

Ok, I understand that it is impossible to compare.

But at least, please answer if 1uA is per channel value or not. Otherwise this value is not useful at all.

    Best regards,

    Kazuki Itoh

  • The datasheet does not say this.

  • Hello Itoh-san,

Sorry that this is not better mentioned in the datasheet.

Here is data for SD behavior:

I tested TLV9052SRUGR and this is already adjusted to be per channel: multiply by 4 to get total TLV9054 IqSD current.

This plot is Quiescent current per channel at VSD=0V sweeping supply voltage from 1.8V to 5V

This is IQ per channel vs VSD at 5V supply

It is safe to say that TLV905xS will perform better than TLV2775 for quiescent current in shutdown.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best,

    Jacob

  • Hello Itoh-san,

To add to Jacob's comments, we are planning on releasing the datasheet with the shutdown information included. Typical shutdown current is 0.35uA per channel which is close to what Jacob was finding in his testing.
