INA240: INA240

Part Number: INA240

Hi All

Page 19 of IC datasheet gives an equation for Gain Error Factor = 3000 / (Rs +3000) where Rs is the external filter resistance value.

I would like some detailed insight into how the constant 3000 is calculated. Knowing this would allow calculating similar factors for other TI current sensing ICs which do not provide such equations. If this can be extracted via simulation that would be good to know as well.

  • Hi IK,

The equation and the datasheet wording contain all the information we can freely disseminate. The equation, in its format, may not be applicable to anther device. It has to be treated on a case by case basis.

In addition, the equation only serves as a rough estimate of the magnitude of the error, not an exact calculation. This is due to uncertainties in resistor values and mismatch. That’s why the datasheet recommends filter resistors of no more than10Ohm.
