AMC23C10: Totemple PFC - zero crossing detection

Part Number: AMC23C10

Tool/software:

Hello,
We are currently designing. Totempole PFC in that, for zero crossing detection I am planning to use AMC23C10 but based on datasheet,
In system, they have connected Neutral and GND as commen points!

Does this IC will work as expected without making this connection,
Do you have any IC in you catalog for which can provide this solution?

Regards,
Umang

  • Hi Umang,

Could you provide a schematic of your system?

    but based on datasheet,
In system, they have connected Neutral and GND as commen points!

    Are you referencing this schematic?

I'm not sure what you mean by Neutral and ground connected as common points. Could you explain the issue you see there a little more?

    Thanks.

  • Hello Saleh,
I was referencing to first page typical application note, but anyway,
As I don't have exact value for component as of now,
Can you please refer below Sch and let and let me know if this configuration will work or not?

As we have TTP PFC we can not combine natural N and GND ISO in our system.
Please let me know if you require any more details?

    Thanks in advance,
    Umang

  • Hi Umang,

The GND1 pin of the AMC device doesn't need to be connected to Neutral, but it does need to be connected to INN to establish the common mode voltage on the inputs.

    Thanks.
