THS4521: RF signal disturbance issue

Part Number: THS4521

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

My customer found a disturbed signal when they have a phone call nearby. Could you please review the schematic?

Below is the phenomenon:

The pic shows the output signal. The test point is the pin-1,2 of J1. When they have a phone call, the signal with big peaks appears.

Then they tested the pin-1,8 of THS4521 and found there is the disturbance when they have a phone call. After that, they connect the Pin-5,6 of J2 directly, the result is the same as before.

In order to test that if the signal of sensor be disturbed, they tested the Pin-5,6 of J2 and the waveform is in below, phone call doesn't have any impact.

So, the questions are: Where is the disturb source? Are there any problems of the schematic?

Moon

  • Hi Moon,

We have come across similar issues with FDA's picking up Rf noise that was due to antenna effects with long power supply wires coupling in. Could the customer share the layout of this circuit and maybe their setup as well? Any long wires around the circuit can behave like antennas and couple into the circuit which is why we recommend a tight layout to avoid having these unwanted signals couple in.

    Best Regards,

    Ignacio
