LMV358: MSL LEVEL

Hello, I am Harpreet Singh and I work for MEC SRL based in Italy.

We recently bought 4 reels of PN LMV358QDGKR, 3 of them are classified as MSL LEVEL 1 and the last one is classified as MSL 2. Can you kindly explain me this discrepancy?

Is pn LMV358QDGKR considered to be MSL LEVEL 1 or 2?

As shown on ti.com/quality-reliability-packaging-download/report?opn=LMV358QDGKR, this device is made at three assembly sites, only one of which makes MSL 2 packages.

The web site shows MSL 2 because this is the worst case. You can treat all devices as if they were MSL 2. If you happen you get reels marked as MSL 1, you can treat them as MSL 1.

Hello Clemens, thanks for your response.

Is there a way to guarantee that we always receive the same msl level components? We can possibly specify this request when ordering.

I am asking this because the pn LMV358QDGKR is associated to our code MSINT01756/01 in an ERP System and we can only give one msl level to our code. Therefore it is impossibile for us to handle two different levels for the same PN.

Can't do this because if the components shipped are MSL 1 and we have MSL 2 in our erp system, they will be categorized non compliant because they aren't packaged properly according IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020

Did you purchase the devices off of ti.com or through a TI sales representative? If you purchased the devices from a TI sales representative, could you please contact your TI sales representative with your request for MSL 1 devices?
