ADS8363EVM: Missing reference document SLOD006B

Part Number: ADS8363EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7263, , ADS8363

Tool/software:

Dear TI,

The ADS7263/ADS8363EVM User Guide (SBAU185–January 2011) refers to the TI document "Op Amps for Everyone Design Guide" (SLOD006B):
"The part also accepts bipolar input ranges when a level shift circuit is used in the analog front-end circuitry. Refer to Section 12 of the design guide, Op Amps for Everyone (SLOD006; available for download at www.ti.com) for further information on various circuit applications."

Where can I find this document or any similar design guide?

I want to shift a bipolar signal range (-2.5V to +2.5V) to the unipolar input range of the ADS7263/ADS8363 with maximum input range 0 to +5V.

Best regards,

Oskar Klockar

  • Hello Oskar,

Thank you for posting on TI's E2E forum!

The document "Op Amps for Everyone Design Guide" was as a TI document when the ADS8363EVM User's Guide was released, it is also a published book named the same Op Amps for Everyone Design Guide by Mancini, and can now be found as such. I would suggest searching for this title and you should be able to find it.

We do have other references and design guides for ADC input drive design. Typically this is done with either a Fully Differential Amplifier (FDA) or 2 Op Amps, section 9, Applications and Implementations in the datasheet has an example of the latter.

For guides on how to design you own we have some videos in our Precision Labs Series both in the Op-Amp section as well as the ADC section that go through this:

Is your  ±2.5V input differential or single ended?

These are some Single-Ended to Differential guides that we have as well:  SBAA246B, SBAA265A

    Best regards,

    Yolanda
