AMC1302: why accuracy is improved by minimizing the offset

Part Number: AMC1302

Tool/software:

Hello experts

Hope this finds you well.

In the connection method of the input shunt resistor, the Inn and GND1 are shorted.
It is said that the accuracy is improved by minimizing the offset, we wonder the reason.

Could you let us know why it can be improved please?

Regards,

Zhou

  • Hi Zhou,

I'm not sure where it is said that offset is minimized by this connection, but it will help ensure that the input remains within the common-mode input voltage range of the device.

This improves immunity to common-mode voltage steps and protects the device from damage.
