ALM2403-Q1: ALM2403-Q1

Part Number: ALM2403-Q1

Tool/software:

In ALM2403 datasheet page no:-16 mention Supply voltage is 15V and resolver input is 7 V rms ,

My Question is if resolver input voltage 7 V rms means 19.796 V peak to peak required. How can is it possible using only +15V supply?

Need to increase +15V supply?

  • Hi Shailesh,

You are correct, 7Vrms would not be possible on a 15V op amp rail.

This table is however correct, as we use a differential excitation scheme where each amplifier channel contributes 3.5V rms excitation with 180 degree phase shift on CH2.

This means that this 7V rms actually representing the RMS voltage seen at the load (the resolver).

Sorry for any confusion here, I understand how this seems incorrect numerically.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best,

    Jacob
