Tool/software:

I'm only getting output when the PLIMIT and RINN pins are shorted, but the audio is distorted and the IC becomes very hot.

Could you provide the correct voltage levels and connection details for the PLIMIT, GAIN/SLV, and GVDD pins? I also need the proper schematic.

I'm using a single-channel input on the right channel, with the left channel grounded.

The amplifier is configured in BD Master mode.

    Hello,

    PLIMIT and GAIN/SLV can have various voltage levels depending on the external voltage divider settings. They should be below GVDD and GVDD should be ~6.9 V. 

    An application diagram can be found on page 26 of the datasheet for reference. 

    Can you share your schematic for review? It seems something is configured incorrectly.
