LMV321: LMV321IDBVR

Part Number: LMV321

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a problem: I am looking for an alternative to the LMV321IDBVR, and I would like to know what could be very comparable to this from Texas Instruments. I have already tried a few others, but none of them were suitable in the final product tests. Another option would be to make some changes to the passive components, but I would first like to get a few more options for operational amplifiers that might be suitable.

Thank you and best regards.

  • Luka, welcome to the TI e2e forums.

Why do you want an alternative? (cost, availability, performance?)

In what way were were the alternatives tested not suitable?  The pinout is less common, pin4 out.

  • Hello and Thank you

The main reason for considering an alternative is related to the availability of the current component. We have observed variations between different production origins, which in our application do not provide consistent results. Although the alternatives we tested are, according to their datasheets, comparable to the original part, they did not prove suitable in practice due to boundary conditions in our system (e.g. signal dynamics/slew rate). For this reason, we are looking for a solution that ensures stable and reliable operation in our environment.

  • Luka,

Thanks for the explanation. Would a perfect op amp work well in your system? If yes, then There will be many alternatives; the ones closer to perfect. If no, then unlikely to find core solutions.

Even more limiting is the 'south east' pinout (pin 4 output) in DBV. Almost all modern low voltage op amps have a 'north west' pin 1 output pin.

LMV321 is subject to a design, process change so it will have more variance. TLV9001U is DBV south east pinout alternative. It is better and worse than LMV321 in different ways, but it is not affected by any design, process change  so it will be more consistent shipment to shipment.

  • Hello,

I am attaching a measurement of the LMV321 slew rate (see picture). For my application I would very much like to get as close as possible to this kind of slew rate, or ideally to have the same behavior as shown.

Do you perhaps have detailed data on alternative devices that would be suitable and comparable in terms of slew rate?

    Thank you and best regards.

  • Luka,

TLV9001UIDBVR is 2V/us slew rate for large signal. Your example is large signal. This is the only close option.
