Current Consumption Estimation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLE2062

I would like to estimate the current consumed by my circuit in order to size the power resistors. I have 2 LOG102, 2 OPA129, and 9 TLE2062 in the circuit, as well as assorted passive components.

  • I don't need an exact number, just a good enough estimate to make sure I don't fry my power resistors. Would 10 mA per chip be a safe estimate? Lower? (That would be nice) or higher?

  • Henry,

You can find the maximum quiescent current for each device in the data sheets--2mA for each LOG102, 1.8mA each for the OPA129 and 350uA x 2 for each for the TLE2062. These are quiescent currents. It's not possible for us to estimate your total current that might be due to load current or other circuitry without more details on the circuits and signals.

    Regards, Bruce.
