opa656 heating problem

We use OPA656NB in our project. But it heats very much (about 75 C) in normal conditions.

What can we do to solve this problem ?

Is OPA656UB obsolete or could it be obsolete in future?

Could OPA656-DIE be used normal PCBs? What is needed for using OPA656-DIE?

Also is there any alternative opamp for OPA656 (with same electrical characteristics)?

    There are a lot of reasons for heat issues (heavy loading, poor layout, not enough ground plane, instability, etc). However, without a schematic and layout we can only guess.

    If you upload these things, then we can help you debug your problem. Also, descriptions of intended use and oscilloscope shots are helpful to quickly determine the root cause and possible improvements.

    As far as the OPA656UB is concerned; It is still available to order with no plans to be obsoleted. It would take a very good reason, such as fab closure for example, and require Senior VP approval to do so. This does not happen very often, but if a part does have to be obsoleted for some reason, then we will offer a Life Time Buy and provide a notification.     For mounting the die to a PCB, it can be done if you have the correct footprint to allow the bondwires to be soldered properly. You can find the footprint on the OPA656 product page, http://www.ti.com/product/opa656#cadsymfoot

    Additionally, external shielding or an insulative epoxy should be used to protect the die from over voltage or possible short circuit conditions.
