THS3202 model isn't working.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS3202, TINA-TI

Hello,

I'm using Altium in order to simulate this simple G = 2 non-inverting amplifier (the same that can be found in TSH3202EVM):

The output of the circuit above is this:

As can be seen, the output has 1 mVpp when the input is 60mVpp. This makes no sense. I'm using this simulation file:

Can anyone help me?

  • It looks like your power supplies are hooked up backwards.

    -Luke

  • I've already verified that and the power supplies are ok:

    • pin 7 coneccted to model (vcc) hooked up to +7.5 V
    • pin 4 coneccted to model (vee) hooked up to -7.5 V

Here a picture of the connections:

Furthermore, I've tried changing the power supplies and it is still wrong.

  • Sergio,

Testing the model in TINA, everything looks fine.

I've attached the simulation file below.

    4278.THS3202 g=2.TSC

This leads me to believe that something is not connected properly in your circuit.

If I switch the power supply connections, the amplifier is off and you get a very attenuated signal like you are seeing.

I would suggest that you verify all of the connections in your schematic, starting with the power supplies. They are listed as +7.5V and -7.5V, but check to make sure.

Otherwise, TINA-TI is a free tool that we offer available at www.ti.com/tina-ti

Let me know if this helps.

    Regards,
    Luke Lapointe

  • Hello Luke,

I've checked all my conections and I've tried the same circuit using another operational model. All seems to be OK except when I execute THS3202 model.

I've also installed  TINA-TI and the first thing I have notice is that the model in TINA-TI is not the same that I've downloaded from here. This makes me think that this model could be wrong.

This is the model in TINA-TI:
