Inquiry regarding Output Current on LMP2232

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP2232, LMP2231

Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding Output Current on LMP2232 from our customer.

Please refer to the item below, and feedback us with your comment.

When referring page 3 of LMP2232, the output current (IO) is defined as 30mA (TYP) in case Sourcing, VO to V–, and 22mA in case Sinking, VO to V+.

Also, when referring page 3 of LMP2231(single type), same definition for output current (IO) is described.

Please let us clarify whether  the definition of output current (IO) on LMP2232 is applied for one channel, which resulted in twice higher for total 2 channels.

We thank you in advance for your information.

Best regards,

  • Greetings Atsushi,

The current is per channel. A dual device does NOT have twice the output capacity of a single. Think of the dual as two independent single devices in one package sharing the supply lines. The specification applies to each output.

The combined SUPPLY current will double if both outputs are driving the same current, of course.

    Regards,
