OPA2364 - diode clamp

Hi all,

Would you mind if we confirm about OPA2364?

The datasheet indicates inputs as the following;
"Input terminals are diode-clamped to the power-supply rails. Input signals that can swing more than 0.5V beyond the supply rails should
be current limited to 10mA or less."

We got that Input terminals are diode-clamped to the power-supply.
So, are Input terminals diode clamped to the GND also?
We would like to know exactly whether this device has OVP about Input terminals or not.

Hirotaka,

The input and output pins are diode-clamped to BOTH power supply rails so that DESD1 and DESD3 diodes get forward biased above positive rail while DESD2 and DESD4 forward bias below negative rail - see OPA2364 simplified ESD protection circuit below. That is why in order to prevent damaging the diodes, in case of the input signal swinging more than 0.5V beyond the supplies, the current must be limited to 10mA or less.

Hirotaka-san,

Yes, that is correct. All of the components shown on the above circuit diagram are inside the device.
