OPA188 - the maximum input voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA188

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask OPA188?
Please refer to the follwoing file.
20160126_OPA188.pdf

Maximum input common mode voltage is from V- to V+(-1.5).
So, in case of V+=5V, V-=0V, is it possible to 0V to 5V as the attachment file?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hirotaka,

In a follower configuration you must make sure that you do not exceed the maximum input and output voltage range.

Since OPA188 linear input range is specified from (V-) to (V+)-1.5V, on Vs=5V single supply this means 0V to 3.5V; however, you must also consider that specified linear output range (see AOL conditions) is from (V-)+0.5V to (V+)-0.5V so the maximum signal you may use is from 0.5V to 3.5V
