THS7530: THS7530 Obsolescence

Part Number: THS7530

Support Path: /Product/Production, ordering, and quality/Product lifetime considerations/Obsolescence policy/

I am redesigning a an altimeter IF strip, replacing some obsolete components.  This device will have > 10 year production life.  I would like somebody to please tell me how long this device will be manufactured, you know, roughly.  I don't want to put my company through the expense of redesigning the IF only to have this happen a gain in a couple of years.  I know it is a SiGe process, do you guys do a lot of chips on that process or is going to go away?  Since one of the applications calls for a level of Rad Hardness this is important to me because SiGe parts typically do well in these applications.

Thanks!

Tim

  • Hi Tim,

You might want to check out this link for the obsolescence policy of our devices: www.ti.com/.../quality-policies-procedures-faqs.html

As such, I don't expect this device to be out of production as long as the device is being ordered from our customers, however low the volume would be. We usually communicate to our customers about end of life for the device to make a one time buy if in case such a scenario occurs, and has been explained in the link. I don't expect SiGe process to be going away anytime soon in the next 10-20 years because of the yield and ease in manufacturing associated with it.

    Best Regards,
    Rohit
