If your design uses a multiple amplifier package like a dual or quad, you may find that some amplifiers are unused. What is the best way to configure the unused amplifiers?

    This situation arises most commonly with quad package devices, where a design might call for three op-amps and you're left with an orphan. The best solution for dealing with this unused op amp is to configure it into a unity gain configuration where one input is grounded or tied to a low impedance node. This puts the operational amplifier in a well understood state, eliminating the risk of excess current draw or noise.
