TRF37B73: TRF37B73

Part Number: TRF37B73

Hi TI

I am facing problem, that the input return loss S11, is very depending on the input power level and output load.
As well I get rippel in the gain (S21), as function of input power level and output load. The input power level goes up to +9dBm, which is in spec range.

Have TI seen anything simlar from your side?

Best Regards

Hans

  • Hi Hans,

RF amplifiers do tend to roll-off early as a function of increasing input power level and output load, and the TRF37B73 is no different. The TRF37B73 has a small signal gain of 15dB, and an output P1-dB compression point at +15dBm. So, applying an input power level of +9dBm significantly overdrives the RF amplifier requiring +24dBm output power, which is beyond the output P1-dB compression point of +15dBm. I think the ripple in the S21 and the input return loss S11 changes with input power level are probably because of overdriving the amplifier input.

So, could you bring the input power level to say -5dBm and see if that helps stabilize the S11, S21 response curves?

    Best Regards,
    Rohit
