Hi:

Please ask, the Input Offset Voltage of the LMV324A is plus or minus 1mv. What is the normal distribution of the Input Offset Voltage (or which value is the Input Offset Voltage of most chips)?

Hi Jerry,

If you look at Electric Characteristics in the Datasheet (Table 6.7), the typical input offset voltage is +/- 1mV which is +/- one standard deviation. So about 68% of the devices will fall within this offset voltage.

And, most devices test the offset voltage in final ATE, where it looks like they screen to +/-4sigma.

The more recent devices will show a histogram like this one from the OPA837 datasheet, Sometimes the mean does shift off zero a bit. And the whole distribution moves around slightly with supply voltage.
