TRF37C75: output load resistance

Part Number: TRF37C75

Hi All,

Can i load the amplifier with 100 ohm output instead of 50 ohm? I have observed the peak-peak voltage drastically increasing when i do that (input current also seemed to increase) Can you tell me the ill effects of this? I know that Reflections at both driver and load will be present and the voltage might vary along the 50 ohm characteristic impedance. But I can resolve this if i use 100 ohm characteristic impedance.

  • Hello Nishanth,

Would you be able to share your schematic for clarification? Also, did you observe the Vpp increasing with the load of 50Ohm vs with the load of 100Ohm? Could you give specific numbers for Vpp and input current in both instances.

    Thank you,

    Sima
