LMC6484QML: LMC6484qml

Part Number: LMC6484QML
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMC6484

Hi Team,

My customer want to use this device as an inverting buffer, ADC Driver and Band Pass Filter for a signal approx 10 KHz. What will be the typical noise of the device for a 6KHz Signal when the device is configured as non-inverting buffer.

Can you please help with your comments.

Regards, Shinu Mathew.

  • Mathew,

    The unity bandwidth of LMC6484 is 1.15MHz and its broadband noise is around 20nV/rt-Hz (see below).

    Assuming you do not have any additional filters, the total noise for buffer configuration (G=1) will be dominated by the broadband noise and thus neglecting 1/f noise it may be calculated using formula shown below:  Vin_noise = ebb *√(BWn) = 20nV/rt-Hz*√(1.15e6*1.57) and thus

    Vout_noise = 26.8uVrms or 161uVpp

    For inverting gain, G= -1, assuming resistors used are low value (~1k), Vin_noise = ebb *√(BWn) = 20nV/rt-Hz*√(1.15e6*1.57/2) = 19uVrms and thus

    Vout_noise = 38uVrms or 228uVpp

  • Thanks Marek,

    Thanks for the inputs.
