OPA2364: OPA2364-Purchase

Part Number: OPA2364

Hi Team,

When I checked TI website for OPA2364.

I can see that they suggested alternates also. Does that mean TI is going to stop the production of OPA2364?

    Hello Hari,

A suggestion of alternatives is just that, merely a list of alternative parts you may also choose to consider.  It is not intended to suggest that the product is about to disappear.  If there is some sort of plan to discontinue a part, it will be clearly noted on the page.

The company has set down some guidelines as to our product life cycle policy.  Here's some information you may find useful.  I took it from the "Product life cycle | Quality policies" page.

We make an effort not to obsolete TI standard products out of convenience, and we have procedures in place to ensure that we can stand by this. We have established clear guidelines to ensure that we only consider a TI standard product for obsolescence when three conditions simultaneously exist: the product has had no sales for the last five years (seven years for automotive or high-reliability products), it has been in production for at least 10 years, and there is no current customer demand.

To aid customer decision-making when selecting TI products, we clearly designate the product status of each TI product as preview, active, not recommended for new designs (NRND), last time buy or obsolete. To reinforce our commitment to product longevity, on the rare occasions when we classify a TI product as NRND, we do this only if there is a potential issue that may affect product quality or our ability to manufacture the product over the long term.

Here is another, recent e2e post on this thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/site-support/f/1024/t/838344?EOL-of-parts

Lastly, here is some information on our product change notification https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/product-change-notification.html

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
