OPA521: Enable/Disable timing

Part Number: OPA521

Hi,

According to the datasheet, the enable and disable times for OPA521 are 3 and 2 milliseconds respectively. This would be far too slow for my application.

However, measuring on the EVM gives me a value of about 31 microseconds for turn-on, and about 5us for shutdown. These times are reasonable... but can I rely on them? Is the datasheet wrong, or is there some situation in which it can become 100 times slower?!

Best regards, David

OPA521 EN/SD timing pins in the datasheet had typo. The both units should have been in microseconds. We visited the scope shots in the part, the timing units are recorded in usec.

  • Hi Raymond,

Well, it is good that they were not in milliseconds at least. They still don't match my measurements though (3us datasheet vs. 31us measured). I realize they are just typical values, but a factor 10 slower seems excessive.
