Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA2180
Hi team,
Good day.
Can we use one channel of the INA2180-Q1 as a level shifter from 3.3V to 5V? Do we have a sample circuit configuration?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
Carlo

Hey Carlo,
I am not sure what you are referring to. Are you asking if a channel of the INA2180-Q1 can independently shift a current signal from a 3.3V bus, into a voltage output signal with a full-scale range of 5V? This would be a perfectly valid use-case, that is if you need to sense a current signal through a shunt resistor.
In this scenario, supply voltage (Vs) is 5V, the input common-mode voltage at input pins to a single channel of INA2180 is 3.3V (the VCM for the other channel can be anything between the Absolute Maximum ratings). The output (Vout) would be a voltage that is gained up input voltage with full-scale range of just under 5V due to swing to rail limitations.
Sincerely,
Peter
