Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA454
Hello,

Could I have the transient thermal resistance data of OPA454?
θJa and θJc of transient thermal resistance is best.
but, θJa only is ok for customer.
Please see the attached picture as transient thremal resistance.

My customer use OPA454 by pulse drive.
Pulse is about 2ms~5ms.

Best Regards,

  • Ryuji,

Transient thermal impedance is typically characterized only for discrete transistors like MOSFET's but not for integrated circuits (IC's) since IC package cannot respond to quick changes in the power dissipation.  In order to calculate the thermal effects inside the IC, you need first to determine the average power dissipation inside the IC package and then use it together with thermal resistance shown in the table below to figure out IC junction temperature rise.
