How to import LM311 spice model to TINA TI

How do I import LM311 spice model in to TINA.

I tried with Insert-->macro-->file name, but tina was unable to open the file.

I renamed the spice files as .tsm

Actual file name I downloaded from TI website was LM311.201

Hi Hitesh.

The problem is likely with the odd extension on the PSpice file name; it isn't recognized by TINA. You would simple change the extension to .cir. I took the PSpice model, imported it into TINA and built an LM311 TINA Spice version. You will find an LM311 Test Circuit.TSC file attached containing the LM311.TSM model. You can configure it any way you like.

Is it also possible to model the strobe pin of this part also? I want to use the strobe pin as part of my design and I want to simulate it make sure that it works 1st but the attached model does not have this feature.

Hi Luke,

Unfortunately, provisions for the strobe function were not included in the LM311 Spice model. Most of the models from the time period of the LM311 development are simplistic and making any significant changes requires the model to be re-engineered which usually isn't practical. I did a quick look at the model and it doesn't appear that it can be readily added.

The TI group that I am part of doesn't directly cover the LM311; however, the group that does, monitors this forum. They may be able to assist you in some other manner.

I'm trying to import the LM339 spice macro. I renamed in to *.cir. What tool in Tina do I use to import this file?

Hi Ron,

Please see the attached PowerPoint document outlining the procedure for setting up models in TINA. If you don't have a professional version of TINA such as TINA Industrial V7, the new version of TINA-TI V9 supports the Macro Wizard tool.

By the way, it looks like I did convert the LM139 PSpice model to TINA Spice at one time. I can send that to you if that would help.
