Looking Voltage-to-Current Converter Evaluation Kit, 0 to 25mA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi,

I am looking for Voltage-to-Current Converter Evaluation Kit for one of my test bench setup, accuracy is not that important. Output current of range 0 to 25mA and max input voltage available is 12V so a varying voltage of 0 to 5V or 0-10V can be made available. I am in need of two channel circuit and as it is test bench setup i am expecting a cheaper option/solution.

  • The simplest voltage to current converter may be set up using an op amp, FET transistor and a current setting resistor - see below.

Below Fig 1 shows V-I converter with Vin in the range of 0 to 10V resulting in 0 to 25mA sinking current (Iout=Vin/400).  Fig 2 shows V-I converter with Vin in the range of 0 to 5V resulting in 0 to 25mA sourcing current (Iout=Vin/200).  The voltage/current ranges may easily be adjusted with R1 and R2 resistors.

I have attached Tina-TI circuit schematic for your convenience - see below.
