I am using an 8 pin DIP package presently but if this takes off I would go to SMT. But for now just a plain ol' 8 pin DIP

Open collector or push/pull? What speed? Rail-to-rail inputs?
The only comparator with a pinout similar to the LM741 is the TLV3701.
Hi Kim,
I would take Clemens advice and use the search function on the comparators product page.
Please let me know if you run into any issues.
Kind Regards,

I am looking for something that can use a single ended supply. somewhere around 5-12V. the comparator is driven from a temp sensor. The op amp would be driving a 2n2222 transistor. I tried a LM741. I am looking for a pin to pin replacement. 6558.HV Switch.pdf
Hi Kim,
If you want a push-pull output single comparator in DIP, then the only one is the TLV3701. It has the same pinout as the LM741 (minus the offset pins), so it would drop-in replace the 741.
Once you move to SMT, you have many, many more choices. If you have an SOT-23 to DIP converter, such as the DIP adapter evaluation module or similar adapters from eBay, Digikey or Adafruit, I would recommend the TLV7011.
You may want to add some hysteresis, as temperature moves slowly and without hysteresis, the output could 'chatter' as it moves slowly through the threshold.
I recommended the TLV7011 as it has 4mV of built-in hysteresis. More external hysteresis can be added if necessary.
Thanks but those devices seem to limit out at 70C. My switch temp is 87C. any other suggestions?
