LM759CP - Need a replacement

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA551, OPA547

I have an old design that uses a LM759CP. I need a replacement. Pinout is of no consequence if the electrical specs are a close match, because I will just insert a small interposer PCB to translate the pinout. A previous post stated that the OPA551 might be useful, but there are some differences. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.

  • Hi Brian,

When I compare the LM759CP and OPA551 datasheets electrically it looks like the OPA551 is our closest match to the LM759CP. There are some differences in their electrical parameters, but in many cases the OPA551 performances are higher. The OPA551 is good for at least +/-200 mA output current, while the LM759CP looks to get closer to +/-325 mA. If the application requires the higher level of output current, then the OPA547 will easily deliver that and more.

If your LM759CP application has some critical performances that you can relate to us that  would help us size up the match better.

  • The OPA551 indeed is the device with the most similar characteristics.

It would be useful to know what values your design actually uses.
