AMC1100: VOLTAGE FILTER POLE.

Part Number: AMC1100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301, BOOSTXL-DRV8301,

Hello,

I am using DRV8301 kit along with Picolo F28069M.

Kindly refer page 6 of the following document.

BOOSTXL-DRV8301 Hardware User's Guide   (SLVU974–October 2013)

At present i am making a motor controller which has an isolated voltage sense requirement.

I want to make an isolated voltage sensor to sense the Dc bus as well as motor phases using AMC1100

which has a voltage filter pole of 364.692 Hz

Kindly help

Thanks and regards.

  • Hi Vinayak,

Welcome to the e2e Forum! I'm not clear on exactly what you are looking for. Are you building your own setup or are you still planning on using the DRV8301 kit? Just going by Figures 6 and 7 in the document you referred to, the voltage is getting scaled down from 26 to ~3.3 for use with the ADC on the launch pad. For the AMC1100, the input voltage is +/-250mV, so you could add another resistor divider circuit on 'VA_FB' to scale that back to the input range of the isolation amplifier. For the current in figure 7, they scale that up and level shift it to ~1.5V (see the hardware schematics, page 4).

In both cases, you would need to deal with the differential output voltage of the AMC1100. If you can accompdate the differentail voltage directly, great! If you need to convert that to single ended, it's basically the same circuit shown in page 4 of the schematics, but you'd have to adjust the gain to fit the input range of your ADC.
