Hello Champs,

As you may aware of this TIDesign, TIDA00530 ( ), it specified usability of LP8731.
So one of my customer would like to use 1~2ea of LP8731-Q1 or LP8732-Q1 as TDA3x power source(PMIC).

But one concerning point is their initial value for two DCDCs and two LDOs.
The initial values are : 1.0625V(Buck1), 1.0625V(Buck2), 2.8V(LDO1), 3.3V(LDO2).
And the this TIDesign user manual said, it should need to be reprogrammed after power-up of TDA3x, or factory OTP setting can be possible(but it will required in customer application which has over certain volume).

In the TDA3x datasheet, it should be 1.15V(nominal) at the BOOT condition for both CORE and DSPEVE.

So could you please check and confirm LP873x-Q1 can be used for the TDA3x application, while doing reprogram at the booting sequence?

Hi Ernest,
If LP8731 OTP is not per TDA3x requirements, you can use small microcontroller to reprogram LP8731 before power-on sequence.

Thank you for your reply,
but customer use LP873x because of low cost merit, so it could not applicable for my customer.
So, could you check that it would be possible to setting 4xDCDCs(2xLP873x/ 1.06V -> 1.15V or higher) at the bootloader stage?
FYI, they would use 2x LP873x and they would not use LDO inside of LP873x for TDA3x. The input voltage of LP873x is 5V.
If it is okay from TDA3x side, I will let them know to use LP873x for them.

Hi Ernest,

Device data manual states the boot voltage MIN value is 1.11V. Operating outside the recommended range can not be guaranteed.

I don't know why on the schematics SMPS are 1.06V. It can be just the value taken from the default OTP. The data manual is updated constantly. therefore it contains the latest data based on characterization results.
