RGMII(AM335x) to RGMII(ethernet switch) connection without PHY

Hi,

In our custom board, we are using AM335x module.

We want to connect a Ethernet switch(RGMII) directly to AM335x RGMII port without using PHY.

Can anybody give some ideas how to achieve this at u-boot and kernel level?

Hello Prav,

Direct MAC-to-MAC connections are not supported from a HW perspective. There are several threads in this forum discussing the issue, but this is a good one to start with:

Some Ethernet switches do provide a PHY-like interface on one or more ports which would allow you to connect the AM335x MAC directly to the switch.
