Linux/AM3358: USB test mode

I am attempting to do USB HS signal quality testing on AM3358 as host. (BBB clone that can run various versions of Linux.)

1. I see in the AM335x and AMIC110 Sitara Processors TRM (SPRUH73O) section 16.3.10 that one can enter test mode and output high-speed test packet for signal quality testing. However there appears to be no mention of a TESTMODE register in the TRM. Is there a test mode register, or is this not implemented in AM3358?

2. If supported and there is not a Linux driver readily available, is it possible to manually send commands as shown “IN Host Mode” in the following link?

What would those registers be?

3. Does AM3358 support USB High Speed PID definitions?

The answer to #3 is no, but they shouldn't be required given that the modes can be entered manually. I'm sure this support could be hacked in if you had a specific requirement for it.

Hi DK - Thanks for the response. Would you refer me to document that does show the TESTMODE register address? (Don't see it in data sheet or TRM.)

Apologies for the delay, I somehow missed your reply.

These registers are confidential information and as such are not publicly available. Do you have a need that is not addressed by the Wiki?

Hi DK:

We did a build as described in the Wiki and were able to generate test packets, J, K, etc., as described, so we are good.

Just seemed inconsistent that the registers were mentioned by name but are not shown in the data sheet or the TRM. If we ever actually need register address in the future, we can go thru our FAE; believe we do have NDA in place already.
