TAS2563: Verification page not showing reasonable graphs

Part Number: TAS2563

In the PPC3 GUI verification page, the graphs do not seem to be updating. I think the algorithm is working:

1) if I change the excursion protection to something tiny (i.e. 0.1mm) I hear a huge bass loss.

2) if I read the "Read Speaker Params" it shows the VC temp to be some reasonable value.

The graphs are not tracking/updating. The excursion graph is not correct.

  • Hi Mark,

I think there is an internal thread on this issue, if you're still having problems please share your PPC3 file so we can take a look.
Please make sure the device is configured properly by entering Tuning and Audio Processing panel before opening validation panel. You can also try default tuning file to check if there is a different behavior.
In terms of hardware, make sure the jumpers are setup correctly, the EVM should be using internal I2S signals (from the host on the board, not an external source)

  • Hi Mark,

We're following up internally, I'm closing up this thread for now with the comments so far the reason of this behavior was that EVM was not initialized properly, and the speaker is considerably non-linear at high power.
if any further questions please follow up on the email forum or come back to this thread on the forum.

  • I rebooted the PC restarted the EVM. I also reselected the default soundcard to be the TI system. I don't know which of those activities, but then it worked.

The measurement results do not match the estimates. This could be due to non-linear behavior.
