TAS6424E-Q1: TAS6424EQDKQRQ1

Part Number: TAS6424E-Q1

Hi Expert:

May I know do we have Power consumption & thermal data with the following conditions of TAS6424E-Q1 ?

Conditions:

1. PVDD=VBAT=12V .

2. 4channel BTL mode for 2-ohm speaker.

3. Max power :45W for each channel , Total =4channel.

thank you

  • Roy,

First of all, you will have difficulty reaching 45W with a 12V power supply.  A typically car voltage while running is 14.4Vdc and you will reach the power values you state.  You can determine the power dissipation of the graphs in the datasheet.  The power level is 4 x 45W or 180W.  Graph 7-9, 7-10, and 7-11 have the data you require.  For example, the power dissipation at 180w at 2 ohms is approximately 37W. So the maximum power consumed is 180W +35W= 215W.

    Gregg Scott

  • Hi Scott:

Appreciate your explanation , it's very clear, thank you

I'm study thermal modeling of the part would like to training customers but not clearly understanding , can you give thermal modeling example on this power dissipation conditions ?

    thank you very much

  • Hi Roy

We can provide simplified model to our customer, but can't give the model that contains any detail inside structures. It's highly confidential. Will the simplified model suit your need?

  • Hi Shadow:

Sure, can you give the simplified model example for the 45Wx4 application ?  thank you very much ,

  • Hi Roy

I'll send the model to you trough e-mail. The thermal model doesn't contain any electrical parameter. Our customer can put our device model in their simulation project, and can type in any power dissipation value they needed.

  • Hi Shadow:

I already provide calculation example to customer & will provide the mode to customer , thank you
