TAS2505: Error in I2S communication

Hello TI,

Currently in our project we are using TAS2505 as audio amplifier to play audio chimes. The Audio data from controller will be communicated to Amplifier through I2S communication. Wanted to understand if there is any mechanism to detect error in audio data or incorrect audio data received by Amplifier due to fault in I2S.

Request you to help me better understand on this topic.

Hi Aishwarya,

There is no dedicated clock error flag in TAS2505. However there is an overflow flag in the DAC that may be useful. If you have a specific situation where I2S is incorrect, you may inspect Page 0 Register 0x2A Bit 7, if this bit triggers then you can use it to trigger GPIO pin as described in this FAQ: https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio-group/audio/f/audio-forum/832843/faq-tas2505-protection-flags-and-interrupts
