TLV320DAC3203EVM-K: Fs 48KHz setting

Part Number: TLV320DAC3203EVM-K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320DAC3203

Hello,

Our customer is running TLV320DAC3203EVM-K.

It works fine with Fs 44.1KHz USB audio source, but if change FW setting for Fs 48KHz as following the procedure on GUI then PC did not recognize USB audio anymore and show up error message “This item was encoded in a format that's not supported. 0xc00d5212”.

How can we confirm TLV320DAC3203 and TUSB1020 FW is correctly update for Fs 48KHz?

Is there any special requirement for Media Player on PC side?

Regards,

Mochizuki

  • Hi Mochizuki-san,

You should also check the Windows sounds settings, in the advanced tab for the USB playback device, it may look something like this:

I think the GUI should automatically detect the value selected from Windows sounds settings, I would preferably change it there and let the GUI recognize the new value instead of changing it from the GUI itself.

  • Hello Ivan,

In the case of our customer environment, Sampling frequency is Fixed 44.1KHz, no frequency selection list on Windows sound settings screen.

Then change the FW to 48KHz, pop up error message This item was encoded in a format that's not supported. 0xc00d5212 and cannot open Windows sound settings screen.

How can we confirm TUSB1020 48KHz FW update is successfully done or not?

We are trying to see the result on the other Win OS version PC and another Media player.

    Regards,

    Mochizuki

  • Hi Mochizuki-san,

I think you'll have to follow the firmware re-write process described in this FAQ: (+) [FAQ] TLV320AIC CODECS and ADCs: How to restart / revive a USB Audio EVM - Audio forum - Audio - TI E2E support forums

In step 13 you select the specific sampling frequency. The tool included in the GUI may not be functional after some Windows software updates.

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thank you for the information.

After apply suggested process, the EVM could correctly playback with Fs=48KHz sound source.

It seems FW update instruction on GUI was not suitable in our case.

We will proceed DAC3203 evaluation, if we have further concern our customer will post a question on to this thread.

    Regards,

    Mochizuki
