My TAS3204 project found the noise issue ,High-frequency whistle, Headache problem!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS3204

Hello Ti Experts,

My System is arm+tas3204,  and tas3204 's code created by purepath studio and download via slave i2c mode through arm

and using the ADC & DAC of the tas3204 itself not use the external ADC & DAC.

for the MCU download to the DSP CODE , and DSP CODE  the  process flow , that's all no problem .

Seeing the project completed soon smoothly.

But at last  found a Headache problem during the Performance test !

We found that there is a High-frequency whistle in the anolog output through a  AMP 400W.

At first suspected  the issuse of DSP CODE by purpath studio ,

then I tested the I/O TEST MODE( With GPIO1 held LOW during initialization) , but the issue still there!

Our circuit is the reference  TAS3204 EVM,  and i have not found the TI 's TAS3204 's error data about this issue.

Please help us analyze.....

Thanks

  • Hi Yuri,

I'm going to be looking at this, but wanted to ask a couple of questions.

    1. Is this something that you have seen on more than one device/EVM?

    2. Has this happened on more than one project?  Is there one process flow that yields this result, or is this present on multiple TAS3204 projects?  Sounds like it happens independent of any process flow, since you say that it happens in I/O test mode, but I'd like to be sure.

    3. Is the whistle really obvious, or something we have to measure in order to detect it?  Any description of the noise, such as frequency?  If you are playing audio content, do you hear just the noise, or your audio + the noise?

    4. How does one reproduce this problem?  Can you provide a "recipe" for this?  Is it as simple as putting it in I/O test mode, providing an analog source, and listening on speakers?

    Thanks,

    Bobby
