Hello,
I’m currently using the TAS2X63EVM controlled via the PurePath Control 3 software and I encounter some difficulty in modifying the output power of my amplifier.
Indeed, I cannot exceed around 1W at the amplifier output, despite the fact that I play on different parameters such as Channel Gain and PlayBack parameters.
I already tried to change the Boost Mode to Boost always on but it only changes PVDD voltage to the Max Boost voltage (11V) without having any impact on the audio level at amplifier output.
Is there any reason why I can’t increase the audio level output ?
Thanks for your support,
Bastien Harendarczyk
Hi Bastien,
I am assuming that you have the device in "tuning mode"
this EVM is using the TAS2563QFN, which has an integrated DSP that is running our speaker protection algorithm. if you are using a speaker that is not compatible with the default speaker model(specifically if the real Re is higher than the model) then the algorithm will think that the speaker is very hot and limit the output.
you can test this by disabling the algorithm by setting the device in "ROM mode" using the drop down menu in the device control panel

Arthur
