SRC4392: configuring 4 devices for sync operation

I have a current product with 4 CS8422 SRC , which is now obsolete. I am looking into replacing the all 4 CS8422 with the SRC 4192.

The current configuration is the product has 4 AES3 inputs and 4 AES outputs (CS8406) with the AES3 input sample rate ( 44.1 to 192k )converted either 48 or 96 khz.

It also has 8 analog ADCs and DACs. The ADC and Digitla inptus all feed 4 dsp chips.

The first CS8422 acts as the Master ( MCLK, BCLK LRCLK ) and all the other devices act as slaves including the IO so everything is synced.

So I what to duplicate the setup with 4 SRC4392. All the SRC4392 will be programmable thru I2S

Jeff,

I have another question related to this. When a port is configured as a master with the source the AES input thru the SRC and the AES loses lock, will the port still output the BCLK and LRCLK without glitches

Hi Richard, Thanks for your patience.

SRC4392 can do what you described above. You can also read in more details in datasheet pages 26-30. I don't see any issue using it in your set up.

Regarding your second question, Although I have not used it with AES , I would expect it will still output BCLK and LRCLK without glitch.
