TAS5805M:Regarding the problem of noise associated with TAS5805 I2S signal!!!

Part Number: TAS5805M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5805

Hello,

I encountered a difficult problem when using TAS5805.

When I use PPC3 to initialize TAS5805, as long as I2S has a signal input to TAS5805, this kind of noise will be accompanied. However, using an EVM board sounds very clean. Then we tried to route the clock signals of the EVM board to our own board and there was no problem. But providing the I2S clock signal of our development board to the EVM has the same noise problem.

All our initialization operations are performed in PPC3, ensuring that the parameters for starting TAS5805 are consistent. At the same time, the chip we use also uses the standard I2S protocol but produces different results. We are very confused by this.

Thanks,

Liangjinyao

  • Add:The digital gain of the power amplifier is 21DB. This kind of noise sounds obvious when you adjust the input signal to a very small value. In fact, the large signal still exists but is masked. The speaker is very quiet when there is no signal.

  • Hi

Let's firstly check the clock, the could try to look at the input format.

If we provide both clock LRCLK and SCLK from your development board, and pull the SDIN to GND, do you hear any noise? And if we don't pull low SDIN, any noise would appear, or any waveform would appear onto SDIN?

If everything seems fine for the first step, we may need to use AP to check the I2S format or signal from your development board. Send your I2S directly to AP, we could see what is the real signal looks like.
