Hi,

I need to connect 3 analog Mics to this Audio codec,

As per the datasheet, a total of only 2 MICs can be connected. Is it correct?

If not, I want to connect 3 Analog MICs to the codec, how can I do it?

Can I use IN1L, IN1R and IN2L for the connection.

Hello,

TLV320AIC3262 allows 2 total microphones. On the other hand devices such as TAC5212 can support simultaneous recording on two analog and two digital microphone channels or one analog channel and three digital microphone channels. So probably you want to take a look at this family of devices (TAC5x1x) which is one of our newest devices.

Why cant we use the ADC channels for the same?

We need Class-D amplifier which can pump 1.5-2 W into two 8ohm Speakers.

Datasheet clearly indicates the device can handle 2 total microphone ,either up to 2 analog mic or up to 2 digital mic

Each device has its own limitations due to its internal design. I checked with other colleagues and we don't have 3 mic device with that kind of power.

What about TLV320AIC3263, I checked its block diagram but no significant changes are there.

TLV320AIC3263 is not much different from TLV320AIC3262.

What is the purpose of the additional analog inputs of the IC? like INxL, and INxR (x: 1 to 4)

Major difference for us between TLV320AIC3263 and TLV320AIC3262 is that one is stereo speaker out and other is MONO.

The different analog signals on different INX pins can be mixed and/or multiplexed with different gains before sending to the 2 ADCs inside the chip.

TLV320AIC3263 is not much different from TLV320AIC3262 , just some minor differences in some dynamics specs. The AIC3263 and AIC3262 both feature up to 2 analog mic . While TLV320AIC3263 can do four digital microphone inputs , it has mono class D . So if 3 mic ( combination of analog and digital ) is your main concern and MONO is not an issue for you, then TLV320AIC3263 can be used.

Can we use TLV320AIC3254 for 3 analog mics?

and we add external amplifier for speaker.

In addition to this what is the difference between TAC5112, does TAC5112 has mini-DSP like features?

I believe TLV320AIC3254 has 2 analog and 2 digital mic as well.

TAC5xxx is the latest line of codec devices we have with better performance as you can review and compare in their datasheets. Register 0x72 and 0x73 control its digital signal processor configuration of the DAC and ADC.
