TAS5825M: Schematic review

Part Number: TAS5825M

Tool/software:

Hi TI:

1. Please assist with schematic review (PVDD=20V ; Speaker 5W/4Ω x2)

2. PVDD electrolytic capacitor need 2pcs 100uF/35V? electrolytic capacitor can change use 1pcs 100uF/35V?

3. Bootstrap Capacitor 0.22uF voltage minimum need?

4. output inductor use TAITECH_HPC5040NF -100M is ok?

Thanks!

  • hi Tom

    pls refer below answer:

    1.if 5w is rms, pk is 10w. then the sch seems no big problem.

    2.for 5w output, it should be no problem. the THD can be confirmed to see whether be worse.

    3.as pvdd is 24v, 25v is recommended without using 50v.

    4.you can refer the inductor selection section in DS for selecting inductor.

  • Hi Jesse:

    PVDD=20V , L=10uH , C=0.68uF , Fsw=384000Hz , θ=0.5 or 0.14 , Speaker 5W/4-ohm

    Ipeak_power_up = 0.04545A(BD Modulation) ; 0.01273A(1SPW Modulation or Hybrid Modulation)

    Ipeak_clipping = 2.60417A(BD Modulation) ; 4.47917A(1SPW Modulation or Hybrid Modulation)

    Ipeak_output_power = 1.581139A

    inductor selection Isat > 4.47917A  is correct?

  • hi, Tom

    yes, it's correct.

    thanks

  • Hi, Jesse:

    1. use BTL mode with BD Modulation , PVDD=20V , Load=4-ohm (Speaker 5Wx2)
    ref. DS Efficiency vs Output Power curve , PVDD=20V efficiency near 50% , it's correct?

    2. i design schematic can running Hybrid modulation?

    3. if Hybrid modulation design,what should i pay attention to?

    4. BTL 10W (5Wx2) Hybrid modulation can set to Fsw=768KHz, 10uH inductor selection Isat >2.24A?

    (i'm afraid of miscalculation)

  • hi, Tom

    1.yes, it's correct.

    2&3.yes, no special difference between hybrid mode and other modes.

    4.current calculation is correct. but if using 768khz, the switching loss get large. so the thermal might not that good than 384k.

    using 384khz is still a good choice for most customers.

    thanks
